GTA 4, how to increase fps?

Sorry for making another one of these threads, but I'm not very good at this kind of thing so alot of the stuff on google that I tried searching didn't make much sense to me. So I'm asking if anyone can help me out with my GTA 4, I get really low fps and my game lags really bad.


My computer Specs:
CPU: Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5200 @ 2.50GHz
CPU Speed: 2.5 Ghz
Ram: 4.1 GB
OS: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition Service Pack 2 (build 6002), 64-bit
Video Card: Intel(R) G45/G43 Express Chipset

(Sorry if the specs aren't right, please tell me if they aren't so I can add or delete some things)

I know, my computer is very bad when it comes to running games, that's why I'm hoping someone can supply me with a config or some instructions on how I can turn down alot of the detail and maybe put up my fps

I mean you could try google, or someone else might be able to help you. I don't think there is such a thing that will let you make up for comp specs that aren't capable of meeting the minimum. I'll refer Roman to this thread and see if he knows something I don't.
 
GTA4 requires a lot of video RAM since it's an open-world game. That integrated video isn't going to do so well for you. with that game. Turn everything down to minimum.
 
Yeah, roman is like a fucking Wizard, if he doesn't know of a fix, one probably doesn't exist.

I'm hoping there is something for this, there is configs out there that turn tf2's graphics down and make alot of older computers run alot smoother so I figure there should be one for this

I have turned everything to minimum, I still get some very bad lag and I haven't even gotten past the first mission

I really hope I can get something that will help, but I am also thinking that I'm screwed on this one. I would like to buy some new parts for my computer, but money is very tight in my family. So it looks like I'll probably have to wait to play this game
