As a Skial admin, I feel like I should share some of these IMs I get.

Look, I've known Bott for a while, and the longest convo I ever had with him was like maybe 10 replies, and it was because I was hardcore griefing. You're not going to get much out of him, and to be honest, I think that's for the best.

If I was in his position I wouldn't speak that much either. The more you say, the more that can be misconstrued and the more of a chance you'll have to backtrack on what you said. Considering he has final word on anything done in the community in reality he has to choose his words carefully. Also, I'm sure over time he realized that most people are idiots and he doesn't want to waste his time talking to them since it's a waste.

I have mild power over some things at work and I generally sit around for a while thinking about how I'm going to answer or I spend time researching. Sometimes a sentence response could be the result of an hour of research.

  • If you just want me to randomly talk I will try to accomdate you if I can. Don't make it sound like you are trying to report something.
  • If you actually need to report something and it is not an emergency, do it on the forums.
  • Please don't ask if I am busy and then make me wait 10 minutes for you to type out a paragraph. Just say what you want and I will be able to tell if I have time.
  • I am not at the computer all the time so don't expect me to reply right away.

I didn't imply I was having trouble talking to him. Hell, I was talking up a storm there. The problem is that I can't think of anything relevant I'd like to say to him, so I'm left with a lack of any serious response from him.
 
Catch him at the right time, and you can talk to drunk Bottiger. Those are the best.

I've gotten a phone call at 4am from Toxik telling me to get online to do so.
