Just a normal case of someone getting muted, right?

Wrong.

The kicker being...I was already muted when that vote was called. All I'm going to say about that part is that some people seem to take getting muted as a personal insult. However, as this demo clearly shows...

When people are willing to vote "yes" to mute someone who has literally said or spoken absolutely nothing...we need to find an alternative. Skial disagrees on a lot of things. But I cannot see how it can possibly disagree on this.

P.S I don't really care about the original muting. I'm just posting to say that, holy shit, people vote yes even when somebody is already muted. What the hell does that say about it?

I know I'm presenting a problem with no obvious solution. Unless you want to add a fuckton more admins. We could raise the bar for votemute higher, but then that might prevent actual problems from being muted. It's, as you can see, completely and utterly broken when something like this happens.

This suggestion has been closed. Votes are no longer accepted.
People get pissed that they can't change weapons and spam shit. You can't make people give a fuck about the votes, just like you can't ass most people to read the rules.

I didn't know admins existed for a reason.

By the way, I know we can't move the vote keys to F1 and F2, but can we move them anywhere else? I was thinking PageUp/PageDown would be good, since very few people use it.

The votes are on 4 and 5 so it doesn't interfere with normal weapon switching. Some people are always just going to vote yes no matter what and we can't control that. Honestly people shouldn't be getting offended over a vote mute. (see taco's ragefest when i muted him for 3 seconds as a joke) It's 30 minutes and I find it hard to believe that it's that heartbreaking. I understand when someone gets accused of hacking, then I see how they might think that will damage their reputation.

Unless we can get some magic speech recognition technology an some advanced heuristics, I think the system we have now is the best it's going to get. More admins will probably mean more chaos.

I'm not bitching about getting muted. I'm pointing out that someone was muted(which requires over sixty five percent of the server to say yes. Sixty five percent. That's a supermajority.) when he literally- with proof- did not say or type anything.

When something like that happens, you know a system is broken, no matter what else.
