Personally, I think that there should be no automatic ban for these types of situations. A black American talking to another black American on open mic can easily greet each other with, "Sup Niggah?" That is a racist slur.
Instead, I'd advocate for the banning occurring on a contextual basis instead. This concept really places a lot of responsibility on the character of the admins (which I am totally for; if we can't trust their judgment, then what's the point of having the admins?)
E.g.
"I'm pwning y'all niggahs out thurr!" <---Not so bannable (Not inflammatory or antagonistic)
"I have it from the h-ahest authoritay, that that Neegruh, SOL' HIS SOL TO THE DAYVIL!!!" <----Redneck and Illiterate (and pitiful), but not bannable. (Not inflammatory or antagonistic) [Homer Stokes, O Brother Where Art Thou?]
"All black people are niggers and should be purged from the Earth." <-----Bannable (Inflammatory and very antagonistic)
"Come on man, quit low balling me...I'm tired of getting Jewed down by people like you." <--------------Not so bannable. (Not Inflammatory or antagonistic)
"God man...you must do business like a Jew. Look at the backpack!" <-----------------Could use a little class, but not bannable. (Not inflammatory or antagonistic)
"I hope Iran nukes you and your Jewland from this Earth." <--------------Bannable (Inflammatory and blatantly antagonistic)
This is just food for thought. I think that by making it a case-by-case basis, we are taking more of the cultural and societal influences into consideration, with respect to what types of vernacular and personal behavior are acceptable. If someone is genuinely offended, then obviously there should be some justice levied against the perpetrator, but I think that simply setting in stone, "You say or type nigger, you're outta here." is an extremely puritanical and dogmatic approach. Regardless, I'm gonna keep on loving Skial.
