If it's 2.5 degrees (Celsius? Fahrenheit? No clue) it's most likely gonna have some major effects (if we're talking Celsius...), remember how everyone keeps saying that the Earth will be 2 degrees warmer in 2040? Yeah, that's a pretty big deal.
