This is among the worst things I have ever seen, and there is certainly not a lack of things to be seen on the internet.

I never want to find myself in a situation in which this is brought up ever again.

Does anyone else here remember when music was just about music?

You sure wouldn't have seen Elvis pull this shit.

Music is still about music, it's just that corporations has gotten a tight grip of the music industry the recent years. They're the reason bills like SOPA and ACTA gets bringed up, because they lose their grip of the music industry if anyone can just put out music for free on the Internet.

So when Katy Perry pole dances on stage, or Lady Gaga yanks her head off or Nicki Minaj does this shit or The Black Eyed Peas put people to sleep with whatever the fuck they do, You're going to actually try to convince me that this about the music?

John Lennon, please come back to us.... ;_;

That's the corporate whores. Here's some music from 2010 that's still real music:

You see, back in the days of us old people. You didn't have to go looking for good music. It came to you.

I'm pretty sure you had to look for good music in all decades. Some people probably didn't like Jimmy Ruffin, much like I don't like Whitesnake in the 80s or Bee Gees in the 70s. I do, however, absolutely adore Thomas Dolby and Edwin Birdsong. Thomas Dolby had one hit song in the 80s and got quickly forgotten after that, whereas Edwin Birdsong isn't very known at all, only known for making the song which Daft Punk would later cover in their song "Harder Better Faster Stronger".

You probably didn't even know who Jimmy Ruffin was before I posted that... I'm just saying there has to be reason that for the last 12 years I can count the songs I liked on one hand. Whilst there's a plethora of awesome stuff out there from before.

...and that's just you. There's plenty of people on this planet who likes Lady GaGa, but not Jimmy Ruffin.

Jimmy Ruffin sang one of the greatest motown songs ever recorded. His brother David was a member of the legendary group, The Temptations.

Lady Gaga is a pole dancing, shock value slut who lacks any kind of appreciable talent. Her efforts to bogart Madonna's career are incredibly laughable as Madonna barely had any talent either.

Ok, maybe Madonna had a little talent. But she was pretty much about the shock too.

Point is, Lady Gaga is the epitome of the trash that dominates music today. And I'm not the only person saying this.

I disagree, her Borderline song is awesome.

And again, that's your opinion. Yes, your opinion is shared by many, including me, but my sister absoutely adores her, while she just can't figure out why I like to listen to Jimi Hendrix.

Your sister has no taste, Hendrix was god.

I'm not gonna argue this all day. I have better things to do.

I've learned to dig into the favorites of people on Youtube with good tastes in recent music. It's sad because you do have to put forth effort in order to find it, won't be likely to hear it on the radio, but it's worth it. I would have never found out about artists like Opeth, Porcupine Tree, Sigur Ros, Dream Theater, Infected Mushroom, Symphony X, Ahab, Camel, Blind Guardian, Rammstein, Touhou(ZUN), *A thousand others I could pointlessly list*, etc without some of the Internets.

Living in this area of Texas makes it nearly impossible to hear anything other than country otherwise, I love you Internets.

Edit: Forgot Camel was an old prog rock band. They're still awesome, but don't make sense in the context.
