He'll probably come and post so I'm starting the thread. Didn't manage to get a demo because my console is f'd up for some reason, but he snapped to two different completely cloaked spies across the map and headshot them. I chalked the first one up to luck since there was an another enemy near, but the second one, the spy was near no one and completely cloaked.

I've seen flyers play a lot on turbine these past few weeks and I can see he's a superb sniper and is very good at tracking down spies. I don't think he has a need to do something like this.

However that said, you witnessed it and it was really suspicious that he left right after you called him out on it. It's too bad that a demo couldn't have been captured.
 
I've known Flyers Hockey for over 10 years now, since we went to Junior High School, making fun of vocab vertex and Mrs. Freidman.

Although he's disapointed in being banned, he thinks its funny he was banned for hacking, of all things. He thinks it speaks a lot about his skill. I personally think he sucks, but thats compared to me. As good as I am, I've never been banned for hacking, which is weird. So I am kind of curious as to why people accuse him of hacking, when, lets face it, hes just not that good.

But all that being said, he doesn't hack. Maybe he left because his console was fucked up, or the game crashed (his game crashes a lot because he has a beater piece of shit PC), or the Flyers were in a shootout tonight. Flyers hockey is a model player, and probably the best at sniper in the game... and really any game I've seen him play.

You see, I've seen FH play a lot of video games. I've seen him pull a lot of ridiculous headshots. I've seen him swallow a lot of loads. But I've never seen him hack.
 
Yeah, he's working with it. I figured I'd drop by because I'm a respected member of the community and I'd serve best as a character witness.
 
Too be honest I've been in games with him too and i haven't seen him present aimbotty behaviors.
 
Flyers has contacted me and attempted to try and post here but unfortunately, he is having problems.
He does indeed, want to contest his ban.
 
hi there, FINALLY got in. Let's start from the bottom of the list of people who I haven't had direct contact getting this band lifted:

I think it's interesting how he acknowledges there is no evidence, then interprets something that no one had ever said. I never tried to evade a ban, probably because I never felt I needed to. I never left the server, the game didn't crash, and that part was misinterpreted and without merit.

Giildy and I aren't exactly best friends, so I certainly applaud her coming to my side to defend me. Maybe she and I will get married. Seriously, thanks.

Okay, on to the meat and potatoes of the conversation- I was banned for "aimbotting", something I have never done, nor will ever do. I work for a company that provides homeless shelters, food pantries, low income housing, foreclosure prevention, and vehicles for people to get to work. The LAST thing I need to stroke my ego with is to unfairly beat up on children with a computer program THROUGH a computer program. My record speaks for itself, and I play in Turbine almost exclusively because of the quality of play and the people. If that STILL isn't enough to turn your minds around, I remember vividly the two (2) spies I killed which WERE FULLY CLOAKED.
Spy 1- falls off the tall ledge, causing some damage and a blink. He falls behind the crate on my right side. I know he's coming out, probably not stopping because his clock is ticking on his cloak. I get centered on where I think he may be exiting (toward the turbines at center), and lead the invisible player a little to compensate for the time it took me to level the crosshairs. I take the shot. He dies.
Spy 2- completely lucky kill, firing across the turbines into the intel hall of the other team. Fully charged bodyshot, probably struck his foot or ankle. He dies.

Then, someone calls a voteban- 97 required, 51 received. Then I ACTUALLY get banned. Perm banned. I'm completely flabbergasted, and I start looking for your site to appeal the ban. Here we are. Any questions any of you have, I feel more than comfortable enough to field.

EDIT: like my asshole buddy already mentioned, I only have 18,000 kills with the sniper...
 
Takethepants has given me no reason to doubt any of his calls yet. Before/if you get unbanned i would like to talk to him.

Its his call to unban you. (or Romans/Bottigers) i do not mess with other peoples bans.

Edit: tho its not really my call anyway

I'm not an admin here, obviously, so I don't begrudge you your opinion of staying neutral. My only points were that I have a reputation among other players (who vehemently voted the ban down in the server), and there is no evidence to suggest I'm lying.

You've already got a few members with you, do you think you could get some people from the server ( if you remember who they are) to come here and say otherwise?

I remember Midnight, and Burnt Reynolds were in the server when I was on the outside looking in. They play there a lot, but I'm not sure if they have profiles on your forums. Do I really need to call people who were involved in the incident into this new situation? I feel like I'm guilty until proven innocent here. Maybe I should just shut the fuck up before I start to let my frustration seep into my keyboard.

Edit- This is 2 straight hours of my time I've spent appealing this ban. I'd be quite comfortable letting you guys make the call, given that I've said everything I feel is relevant and true.

Aimbotting is kind of super cereal business here.

Shutting up is the good plan ::thumbs up:: Wait until bottiger or Roman roll in.

Sometimes trying hard for something you want is worth it, If you could contact these people and let them speak on your behalf it might help with the decision. I do however respect your wanting to stop before you say something you don't want to that's very admirable.
 
So his unbanning is contingent on his ability to get people who were playing to testify that they didn't notice him hacking? Are there any other parameters that could be met? I mean, from what it sounds like, most of the server saw he wasn't hacking, which was why the voteban was unsucessful.

I do want to note that we both really enjoy skial servers and play on them almost exclusively, it is quite a hit not to be able to play on them even temporarily. So maybe its sort of off-topic, but I'll take the time now to say thank you for the kickass severs, we appreciate it.

No, no, no, I wasn't saying it was a requirement, all I'm saying is it might help with the decision in his favor, I personally have no effect in the decision as I am not an admin. I am merely giving suggestions that I think would help in the long run.
Edit: I would also like to note he has almost 10 days on Turbine just a little FYI in case someone hadn't seen it.
 
I'm going to unban. There was no snap detections by SMAC, stats are still within reason, and the 2nd kill could be coincidence.
 
Thanks a lot guys, I'm sure he'll thank you himself later but he's out at the moment.
