Must be a WOW nerd thing :p

I used to play on Kael'Thas, but then I switched to SWC which I had friends on. It was an RP realm and my name wasn't offensive, but apparently some hardcore RPer got me on a technicality. I found the email I got about the warning. I honestly don't know how Rockblocked doesn't fall into this category, but whatever.

It kind of ruins immersion if some dude named Takethepants is running around. On a RP server, you could have at least displayed a bit more creativity and found some way of getting "takethepants" across without actually just spelling it out.

Even though it was listed as an RP server there was like 4 people on the server who RPed. I actually joined the server (besides my friends who also didn't RP) because the seller economy was great since most people were terrible raiders and just bought gold and spent it on the AH. Hardcore RP is dead in WoW with the exception of a few little niche pockets.

I used to play WoW with a few of my mates on Kilrogg. We all had names that were "Omgits<ourname>" and none of us ever got pulled for having a sentence for a name

That is their all-encompassing naming policy, and the more arbitrary rules (such as not having a complete sentence as your name) are more likely to be enforced in a roleplaying environment.

The fact that you were not playing on a roleplay server is likely the reason why you weren't asked to change your names.

That, and no one probably complained about them.
