Tracking down an unusual hat, any tips? There's a nice reward included for the one who finds the hat

NOTE: I know that I've only got myself to blame for this deal blaa blaa, so please don't post here if that's all you have to say.

So, I've been trying to track down a specific Unusual Noble Amassment of Hats with Circling Hearts effect. The reason why I'm doing this is that when I started to play TF2 I was very lucky and unboxed the aforementioned hat. Well, given that I hadn't been playing TF2 for very long and was new in the mysterious world of trading, I had no idea of the true value of the hat. So, when I unboxed it I was just thinking that why on earth did I get a crappy hat instead of a cool, valuable Strange Grenade Launcher.

Well I went to a trade server and said I was selling the hat - and surprisingly 3 seconds after that somebody traded me. He offered some stranges for it and assured me it was a very good deal and I just thought that yeah I'm getting about 10 ref worth of items here, it's got to be a good deal since even a ref is a huge amount of weapons.

So, here's what I've already done:

I've looked up Unusual Noble Amassment of Hats with Circling Hearts effect at www.uhatsearch.appspot.com.

I've looked in backpacks of the people who own the hat and looked at previous owners at www.tf2items.com

I've also looked at the owner history of the items I still think I've got from the deal but no luck.

So, now I'm asking if anybody's got any idea how I could track down the guy who screwed me? I would like to get ahold of the guy who scammed me (if scamming is the right word here) and ask him politely if he would like to give me at least something back.


NOTE: If YOU help me get in touch with this guy and I get something back from him, you'll be sure to get your cut for helping me.


Edit: I think tf2items.com doesn't necessarily "know" I had that hat since I had it for such a short period of time.

Mind if I ask how'd you end up thinking that's him? At least I'm not one of the previous owners according to www.tf2items.com (http://www.tf2items.com/item/556868726). And that hat also has a history that traces back to June 6th 2011 so it can't be my hat :/. Thanks for the effort, though. Appreciate it.

Edit: But tf2items.com doesn't necessarily "know" I had that hat since I had it for such a short period of time.

Looked a bit more into it and found one possible guy who might be "the one" according to the date they acquired the hat. However, the unusual hat search only finds 11 of these hats, any ideas where I might find out where the rest of these hats are?

Why invest so much time in this? I guarantee you that you won't get anything from the guy who bought it.

Well it is very likely that I won't get anything from him. But it would be nice to even get a chance to talk to him. It doesn't take that much time to look up the history of these hats. Sorry if it bothers you, I'm not going to stop just yet.

Well given that it's a pretty valuable hat I don't think that's likely. And now that I've been thinking, I probably got the hat earlier than September 25th, that's just the day tf2items.com started tracking me. So there probably won't be any proof on tf2items.com that I've traded the hat to someone. :/
