Picture What kind of settings do you guys use on your tf2 to get more fps?

i currently need a config that will improve my fps, as i search many youtube tutorials, but 50 fps is not enough on a super low graphics setings.

I heard before, and am not sure of the logic or truth behind it, but you should be aiming for fps to be the same or a divisible of the refresh rate of your monitor. That would mean you don't need that high a fps, 60 seems to be a key number if this is true. Perhaps someone with a knowledge would be able to enlighten?

On my old desktop I set the game to -DXlevel 80 it dumps a lot of fps in but disables, sheens and skins.
