I'm new to vaping so I have a lot of questions to those who had been vaping for a while. Anyone in Skial is vaping?

PS. Vaping is a technology - that's why this discussion is in this forum.

Nice find. The thread you mentioned though quickly got derailed. Not gonna happen with this one since it's gonna be heavily moderated. By me.

I used to do pineapple with a little nicotine on pull e-cigarettes, but they coated my throat with something and I woke up feeling sick most mornings. It was fun smoking inside for once, but not the same. :(

    Now I'm clean ... I promise.

As long as we keep Johnny out..

Congrats on wanting to quit smoking! It helped me and I really hope it helps you. I've been vaping for a few years and while I don't claim to be an expert, I feel like I know a bit more than the average joe.
From the juice to the atomizers to the mods., it all depends on what you're looking to get out of it. Whether you want to blow huge clouds, have tasty clouds or just want to get the nicotine buzz, you can always customize to make it your own. What exactly are you looking for?

This video is a pretty good starter to give you a broad idea of vaping:

Protip, never buy those cigarette lookalikes. Those are the worse, sold by big tobacco companies.

I'm genuinely curious as to why people enjoy this. To the extent of my limited knowledge, it provides you with no high or relief. Do you guys just like the taste, the social aspect, or what. I understand some of you may be doing it to quit smoking, but why continue it after your addiction is gone?

Because it's hard to quit, even with vapes. You gradually lower the amount of nicotine until you reach 0, but even then it's hard for some people to get used to not blowing smoke, just like it's hard for people who smoke cigarettes to quit smoking because they miss the mouth-to-hand gesture.
Some other people, especially teenagers, just like to blow huge clouds because they think it's "cool" while using juice with 0 or 3mg of nicotine. Also, it does give many people relief and a head buzz based on the amount of nicotine in the juice, if it didn't it wouldn't help anyone quit cigarettes

Any kind of vapor in your lungs is not good. BUT, I prefer people who vape over people who smoke. Smells much nicer and it's a ton healthier than nicotine and that tobacco shit. Although, vaping has turned into a sort of "hipster" thing which I think is pretty damn stupid.

Vaping is definitely a new trend for a lot of people. Remember when you were a kid and played pretend to smoke with bubble gum cigarettes or holding two fingers up outside in the cold so your foggy breath looked like smoke?
Now a lot of people get to do a shit ton of real smoke, usually with pretty good flavors like strawberry cream and whatnot. I hate how many hipsters and teenagers are using it just for fun, but I'd rather have it become a new trend and actually help some people who really do try to quit than just die as another flashy trend.
But again, yes, I fucking hate kids who use it to blow ridiculous clouds in crowded places and people who own vape shops without any trace of knowledge and just use it as a way to make big bucks off a new trend

AsapSCIENCE is pretty good sometimes, but they also use many stupid sources and fake information that's been passing around as fear-mongering.
Yes, diacetyl is bad for you, and yes it causes popcorn lungs, but even people that have vaped ridiculous quantities of a very popular juice called "Mother's Milk" have had no negative effect so far within a few years, and hell broke loose on the company since they declared they were going to stop using the component a year ago but were found out not to have done so. Also, no one has yet to get popcorn lungs from vaping.
The e-liquid industry is still new and growing, I've been following it and it is developing all the time. It's almost become a craft like micro beer brewing. There are many retailers that send their entire lines to get analyzed for harmful components and publish the results publicly.
Also, of course they had to do the "won't anybody think of the children" argument. Just because something has a candy flavor does not mean it is targeting children. I don't see 5 year olds chugging cupcake flavored vodka.
All in all, yes vapes are not healthy, and only idiots claim so. But they are better than cigarettes as far as we know.

I've spent three weeks researching, reading, comparing. Holy shit - vaping is like a fucking rocket science... VG/PG, RTA, OCC, Subohming, coils, resistances, wattages, voltages, MtoL, ToL, coils building..

So I ended up buying MVP 3.0 Pro. Great device, positive reviews, tons of extra features. Once I got it - I ran to a local vape shoppe and bought 18mg nicotine PG tobacco juice. I don't like flavors - I wanted just a nicotine. Well, it was fast that I realized that it was a big mistake to vape 18mg PG juice on 0.5 Ohm coil (and, unfortunately, MVP 3.0 Pro comes with iSub G subohm tank which comes with 0.5 Ohm coils ONLY) because, basically, on this tank I was supposed to be doing ToL (inhale to lungs). And the hits were bad as a motherfucker. So I started shopping for a tank which would carry coils with a higher resistance.

Since I got used to MtoL (mouth to lungs inhale) I ended up buying Aspire Nautilus BVC mini with 1.6 and 1.8 Ohm coils. I also bought 6 mg nicotine 70/30 (VG/PG) tobacco juice. Now I finally enjoy this shit.

    So now on Nautilus Mini I vape 18 mg PG juice on 1.8 Ohm with 15Watts - it produces a good hit and enough of vapor;
and on iSub G I vape 6 mg nicotine 70/30 (VG/PG) on 0.5 Ohm coil with 25 Watts - it has a moderate hit and freaking awesome clouds..

And all that has happened just in 3 days of vaping lol :)
Cigarette produces about 150 carcinogens that end up in your lungs + tar as a product of burning. Vaping has just 2 known carcinogens. I'm OK with this reduction of shit coming into my lungs. I totally realize that vaping is not 100% safe, but it's 90% safer than cigarettes. On top of that, I didn't wanna smell cigarettes when I'm around of my 1 yo.

Nice! Man it's amazing to see that unlike 80% of people who start vaping, you actually researched it!
The MVP 3 Pro is definitely at the top of the starter mods, and if you enjoy the Nautilus mini, maybe one day you'll take the next step and go to the Atlantis or Triton!

I was actually considering Triton before buying Nautilus. Primarily because of its RBA base. However, I decided to go with Nautilus since I came to a conclusion that I took it way too seriously and I'm not yet ready to start rebuilding coils by myself. With time, I will definitely start doing it. I even bookmarked this KIT, lol. But not now.

The only thing I don't like about Nautilus mini is a small tank - just 2ml. Oh, and refilling the tank is not the most convenient activity either.

About research - shit... I haven't even played TF2 or D3 for that matter - had just been reading, watching videos, and posting questions on e-cig forum...

You can vape even if you don't smoke - just buy 0 nicotine juices. It's like a mini-hookah which is portable and convenient.
Looks like vaping has actually become a trend - so many communities, forums, videos are dedicated to it. There are even vaping competitions out there :D
