Hi, recently I accidentally posted my message twice and had to request someone to delete it.

So, I was wondering that why don't we have an possibility to remove our posts? Why do we always need to ask someone else to do it for us? Wouldn't it save time for both of us, if I could just click "Delete" and it'd be gone.

We've had about 3 other suggestions to do this, all of them were declined.
From what I can see that posters could use such tool.

What kind of major problems could it cause, other than accidentally deleting your post and afterwards requesting someone to dig it back up.

They could just add timer to it, 10-15 minutes maybe?

You could still delete double-posts or posts which went to wrong thread accidentally.

Mods can clean up double-posts and move things around if we see it warrants it. You can always edit your posts and it tells people when you have edited so it provides a log. This is already declined by the way.
