So after watching Girls Und Panzer, I realized that Kuromorimine translate litearlly: Black Forest. Now I don't really know about you, but Black Forest sounds like a pretty bad name for a high school. Sounds really just like where a bunch of serial killers, Slenderman, and all sorts of monsters would hide out in. Considering this is a GIRL's school, I really don't need any mental images.

But then... I realized something. Black forest's logo:

That is the same logo these guys use:

All of a sudden... I think I feel bad for Slenderman now.

Yeah. History is referenced a lot... Iron Cross symbol is pretty cool IMO.
