    Steam:

Since I opened Skype on my android phone once, I can't get to log in on my computer anymore.

I uninstalled Skype on my phone and reinstalled it on my computer, but when I run Skype this is the screen I get:

And it stays like this for... yeah like forever. Also when I hit the Skype icon in the task bar and choose close Skype, it doesn't do anything. I have to stop the skype.exe process in order for it to go away.

I run windows 7. I will add a screenshot of the Skype appdata folder.

    - Rename the folder login to login1.
    - Then go to Skype folder inside Program Files (x86) and go to phone folder and then right click on Skype application and select send to Desktop (Create shortcut)
    - Re-run skype using this new shortcut.

    Steam:

Have you tried disabling any AV/Firewalls you have running? Have you made any changes to your AV/Firewall recently?
    Also, do the following...

    • Open Task Manager and then go View -> Select Columns:
    • Put a check mark in "PID" and click OK:
    • Find "skype.exe" in the list and make note of its PID:
    • Open command prompt and type netstat -ano | find "3896" (replace 3896 in my example with PID you have just taken note of). The output should be familiar to the one below:
    • Take a screenshot of the output and post it here.
Finally, open the command prompt and execute the following commands one by one:
    Code:
    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /flushdns
    ipconfig /renew
Keep in mind that execution of these commands above will disconnect you from the Internet.

Update: I deleted my account folder in %appdata%\Skype as well as any other file in that folder, and I was able to log in and connect. However, after calling someone, I could not hang up whilst for the correspondent the call was already ended. Had to end skype.exe process in order for it to shut down. Aaaaand now I am back at the problem I was. Perhaps this is also relevant/useful.

Now that I can see your notification area...
Disable Norton Smart Firewall and Antivirus Auto-Protect for 15 minutes and see if it resolves the issue:

Once I upgraded to NIS 2014 my Windows sharing stopped working and I wasn't able to ping any PCs on my LAN - all because of new Firewall Norton implemented - had to tweak it manually.

I will do tomorrow, Norton has bee scanning for almost 2 hours (doing an intense scan). I will post any results or the results after your next step tomorrow.

Steam wants to log in, but Skype still is a no-go even with Norton fully disable. I checked the program rules and it says to always allow Skype-related programs.

Edit: forget about the Steam part

    Steam:

Reinstall Steam using "Repair" option in "Programs and Features". Also try exiting Steam, locating ClientRegistry.blob in Steam's folder, renaming it and starting Steam again.
Skype: you still haven't provided the output of netstat command.

    Done, didn't resolve anything.

    Steam:

Screenshot clearly shows there is no communication established to Skype servers. What do you have in Skype > Tools > Options > Advanced> Connection?
(svchost is a generic process and it's fine to have multiple of them opened).

    Shit.. true...
Do the properties of skype.exe; open Compatibility tab and select to run Skype in Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) compatibility mode. Then run Skype.
As to Steam, browse to your base steam folder (where steam.exe is located) and delete steamui.dll.

    Both things didn't resolve anything.

I am kinda getting desperate/frustrated I am such a non-knowing computer user and can't even get my stuff working.
Plus Steam and Skype are the programs I use the most...
