So today started out as a normal day. I wake up, and turn on my computer to play TF2.

I hop on the 2fort US server and to my surprise, I have 250ms ping. Okay, its probably a download going on in the background (I enabled downloads last night as I was playing Skyrim). I checked task manager, and the only program using the network was hl2.exe for a whopping .1mbps.

Here are my server favorites:

As you can see, a FUCK ton of servers are having high latency today. Now, the first thing many people think is "Oh hes downloading porn trololo" or "Maybe he shouldn't play when people are watching Netflix xD"

Here is a ping plot of skial.com:

Yes, I know pinging skial.com isn't the same as connecting to one of their servers, different IPs, blah blah. Its only an example. But, here are a few more:

Decent latency for my frontier ISP. Right? Lets look at skial game servers. Here is 2fort US:

I mean, what the utter fuck. Its the same for most every other server I regular.

Firepowered Dustbowl doesn't seem to give a shit though. What can I do guise? Do I complain to my ISP or just wait it out? ):

Also firepowered server is unplayable as well (160ms). It seems you have to double the ICMP ping to get a realistic in-game ping.

EDIT: Its not my computer by the way, I did a traceroute with Wifi disabled, my computer in safemode and FROM THE ROUTER. Not a tracert from cmd on my computer, from the interface on the modem/router. Still 200ms. This fucking sucks man.

I've been seeing a lot of horrible ISP screw ups lately, that's DEFINATELY one. for whatever reason, my internet became EXTREMELY slow (but I could ping just fine) after there was a lot of rain, I'm not sure if it's being throttled or if the weather did something, but, it's pretty bad if the ISP is behind it.
