If you have OCD like i do about tf2 you're probably playing competitively in some way.

Pvh, the creator of PvHUD has writen some articles with ways to improve gameplay and fps

Part 1: null-cancelling movement script
If you play scout or medic this can really help you out. If you are spamming A+D to dodge and you press both at the same time you stop moving. This prevents that and you move in whatever direction you last keypressed.

Part 2: Crosshair outline and crosshair circle (works with sv_pure 2)
This is a really cool one.

You can outline your crosshair with a black colour, this contrast can help you see your crosshair against same-colour environment

You can also place a circle around your crosshair, a lot of people use it as their aim seems to improve (find this on page 3 of the thread)

Part 3: Reduce environment explosions and bullet cluster
For when walls are clustered with explosion damage and bullet spread, helps FPS a lot on less able computers.

Part 4: Duck-Jump Script
This script allows you to duck whenever you jump, helps maximizing jump height and jumping out of windows e.g. gravelpit cap B, without the need of straining on your pinky finger.

Hope this outs you out. :D

What's the difference exactly between a script and a hack?

scripts are allowed and hacks are not.
some scripts are border line cheating
like stabby's fov zoom script so he can get easy headshots with his ambassador
