Whenever I try to download ANY app through WiFi, I either get the "Packet file is invalid" error when it's finished downloading, or the download doesn't start and gets stuck at starting download.
Anyone got a clue what the problem might be?

Clearing app cache and data usually help fix most market problem.

Settings > Apps > Play Store > Clear Cache/Data

Did this happen all of a sudden? Or has it always worked like that? Device? What version of Android? Rooted/ROMd?

This has always been an issue. Used to have an HTC something, moved temporarily to an Huawei Ideos X5. Android is 4.0.4, rooted and ROMd with dzo Aurora ICS rom.

Hmm have you tried to maybe revert to stock rom? See if the ROM is the issue. Or maybe switch to another custom ROM?

I can also think of actually heading over to xda forums and checking for a play store app there that might help you out.
