  1. A chargeback happens when you sell virtual items via PayPal and the buyer turns out to be a scammer. The buyer will claim that his PayPal account got hacked and that the transaction was unauthorized. You have 0 chance to win if you sell virtual items. If you are a scammer PayPal is the way to go :troll:
  2. A middleman is someone who prevents that the seller scams the buyer by not turning over the item after it got sold. If the person has a lot of rep you probably don't need a middleman.
  3. Skial Middleman is the scam-proof system programmed by Bottiger. It allows cash trades which are safe for the buyer and the seller. In order to buy items with Skial Middleman you need to have money on www.mtgox.com The good thing about MtGox from a seller's point of view is that MtGox allows no chargeback.
Hope this helps

To add to that mtgox doesn't allow chargebacks (correct?), so the seller doesn't have to worry about that.

I thought that was clear by saying that the cash trades are safe for the buyer and the seller but yes no chargebacks. I add it

So the Middleman forces the buyer and seller to perform a 'non-chargebackable' transfer of funds prior to buying 'virtual and therefore chargebackable' items? Im sorry for the word chargebackable, its the easiest way to stay on topic here.

The items are not "chargebackable", if you're buying video games or something similar they would be, but the system only allows TF2 items. Steam will generally not restore items that have been purchased using cash.

The middle-man basically holds on your items and money until they're swapped, then you go back later and pick up your gains. Like a middle-man.
