Probably. If they made the leap from 1.6 to CSS, then CS:GO should be a no-brainer. The tryhards still on 1.6 will probably stay on 1.6

As with any game, they will try the newest one, and then either embrace it or discard it. I've seen the same thing happen with Call of Duty players

There are people who go from1.6 to csgo and skip source because source was so bad.

But no, to answer your question, I think the vast majority will stop playing CSS, but there is always "purists" who will stick with the older game just to be ironic.

I would be playing cs:go, but my laptop probably couldn't run it anyway. I sorta like cs:s though, it's one of the biggest fps games. Also love the mods on it.
