hello, i recently made a new map for saxton hale servers, it has a cube-like layout but it is pretty good for all the classes, the idea was to create a military outpost, could sound familiar because we already have military area,but the map and the layout itself are different. with this post i'll upload some screenshots and the map itself so if you want to try it feel free to download it.

Not a bad map. It's open and soldier and sniper friendly with a simple layout, but I think it fails on how the map actually looks. It's a little too bright (and I tried with pure LDR) and some props seem a little out of place by floating and having bad lightning. Demoknights are slightly punished here because of smaller amount of health packs and they're all scattered. There is a lot of ammo, though, so engineers will also be happy as well as other classes. There's also a exploit where you can reach a unreachable place as an engineer with a teleport exit, so until that is fixed I can't give my +1.

+1 I explored the map and I think it'll be great for Versus Saxton Hale. Although, I have a few suggestions for some improvements.

Would it be possible to make the following parts of the map solid?

I think it would give players more positions to snipe and build on top of.

Additionally, I feel as though some players will try and hide inside of these objects, thus delaying the round:

Would it be possible to make the following parts of the map solid?

it should be more than possible, using brushes textured with the blockbullets2 tool texture (despite the name, it also blocks players. playerclip would allow you to shoot through them and invisible would cut visleaves, which isn't desired in this case)

I actually tried to make some of them solid, but an error keep occuring while running the map, anyway ill try again.

The doomsday rocket should always be in a hole, not sure if you've noticed but it has no textures on the rims of the metal frame.

I would have to explore it first though to comment further.

What potato are you playing that on?

Donkey do you know how to do skybox terrain? It makes the map look much nicer I can help you if you want.
I'm not playing on a potato, just using configs to maximise performance.

Yes, I've suggested he removes some the doomsday rocket which he says he's done now.

I feel a few other bad props (The ones with no collision boxes) should also be considered for removal, or at least moved to out of reach detail only areas.
