The issue isn't that the states doing it are stupid. The issue is this will be used as a standard in a lot of other blue states now. California leads, the other blue states follow.

And ultimately will not have any positive or negative impact on the grid anyway because major companies will have waivers, individuals will have them shipped to friends/family and pick them up themsellves. The only people it's really going to hurt are small businesses who don't have political sway.

It's just an incredibly stupid move.

This only affects prebuilts so idc, but it is funny they shied away from banning console sales

If you know how to build a PC, congrats, you are now the tech equivalent of "the friend with a truck".

Dell will ship you the PC with the graphics card detached, standalone. No longer a gaming PC.

If you decide to dooooooooo anything with that graphics card, like say, plug it in......well that would be your choice and out of their control.
