DaJaKoe

Spectacularly Lethal Soldier
So, I haven't played TF2 in about a week, and I'm currently experiencing some issues with my graphics. Whenever I open the main menu for TF2, it's filled with the purple and black checkers pattern of a broken texture. Upon entering a game, the textures continue the pattern, blocking my view of the different classes. When I actually play the game, I will not hear any of the character dialogue, and I can see the design outlines for engineer buildings and the map structure in the form of white lines. I also cannot hear the sound of gunfire and explosions. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

the first thing you want to do is verify the games integrity (which I can't remember how todo as I'm not on Steam at the moment).

Purple checkered patterns in source games indicate missing textures.

Go to your Steam Library, right click TF2, click properties, click the local files tab, then click 'verify integrity of game cache' and see if that fixes it
