Invalid /hat command effects showing while disguised

/hat command effects showing while disguised​

I've been told by multiple players on a server while playing Spy that the unusual effect I'd added to my hat via /hat was showing while I was disguised as an enemy team member. I can't confirm this myself since I can't see how I appear to the enemy team, though. If it actually is showing when I'm disguised, is that the intended behavior of the /hat command?​

Yes it is intended. It is too difficult to find the person you are disguised as and copy the hat they have, and to keep it updated in case they change their hat.
