Forget this Game

So, with my new computer, I'm able to run TF2 on top graphics settings with 100-200 fps, but in Minecraft, I'm having frame drops to 45 and below. Can someone explain what the fuck is going on? I mean, I realize the game is not optimized at all and that Java is probably the worst language to make a game in, but really? 45 FPS in a game that uses pixels as textures...

every half of a second it stops and goes.

And yes, I'm complaining, seeing how my 6 year old laptop had better FPS than that and I want to know why my new desktop is having issues.
