So demoman is woefully underpowered and valve doesn't seem to have any ideas on how to fix him since their so lazy, I'm suggesting we add a new loadout slot to begin to compensate for his inability to engage in combat with any class: the short circuit, except with infinite ammo, since collecting metal on demo would be too confusing for new players. This item could be equipped by going to slot 4 an could be used to fight soldiers, demoman's hard counter. While the grenade launcher is tied in power with the rocket launcher, the disparity between the overpowered shotgun and the next to worthless sticky launcher and the extra 25 health make demoman a straight downgrade to soldier. However, this doesn't solve the shotgun issue. My suggestion would be to make gunboats default so scrub soldiers can learn to rocket jump, and make shotgun only aquirable completing a campaign mode which valve could implement. However, when mlg pro soldiers who tryhard come onto the server and shoot you with the shotgun, your trapped once again. Therefore, demoman should get, by default, 65% faster weapon switch speed so he can retaliate instead of dying to the most blatantly overpowered weapon, the shotgun.
