oh damn i was gonna do that. and not pay a scrap more since you probably paid a buck for it

Yeah, Dead Island is one of the most scammed games. I'll bet you anything the code is for the Russian version of the game, too.

Oh, I didn't know that :suspicious: Well if somebody buys it and it doesn't work, I'll give your stuff back, of course.

Just to mention i bought a dead island code eastern europe for 10 ref. Still working. Had it for 3 months already
Oh yeah, it'll still work. If you activate a CD key (which most of these Dead Island trades are), then there's very little chance of it going away.

What I meant is that people are able to buy Dead Island keys from Russia for about a dollar a piece. The game activates in Steam just fine, but the key may be stolen somehow.

I know that there are some issues with Steam in Russia, so a lot of people who legitimately bought the Eastern European version of the game are just selling their keys to redeem on Steam, since they can't activate the game on Steam, themselves.

Just a word of advice to anybody making trades for Dead Island: The person giving you the DI key probably got it dirt cheap, and is making a huge profit if you offer anything more than a ref for it. Not to say that it isn't worth a ref, because it's still a perfectly legit, fully-functional game, but if you're uncomfortable with somebody else profiting off of you like that, you may want to be cautious.

Also, since these are text-based CD keys that are being traded, I would suggest that you accept the key in Steam chat first, before you give away your items. Both parties should always screenshot their Steam chat logs when doing this, to make sure that neither of them gets ripped off, but in the case of Dead Island keys, it's more fair that the person giving away Dead Island goes first, since there's less loss on their part.

Again, remember that this isn't necessarily a scam, so my phrasing earlier may be a bit off. But be wary, as there's a chance that the CD key will not work. Test the key first, then give away your items in Steam trade.

Well I did not buy the CD key for a ref. And I trust the person who sold it to me but I've got no guarantee it works since there's no other way to verify that than to just redeem the code. As I said, if the buyer has got a good rep I'll go first. And if you go first and the key doesn't work, I guarantee you get your stuff back. Hope it's not a scam since then I'd lose pretty much. Well, this probably isn't the best marketing speech you've seen, but that's how it is.

Any offers? It won't go for 1 ref :D
