Problem solved. Borderlands Startup Error #6000 (SecuROM?)

I recently purchased BL after a few friends begged me to get it in order to play co-op with them. I got pumped up with the BL2 trailers and the BL gameplay and decided to do so. After downloading, and attempting to launch I get the following..

What do I do?

I've already defraged my cache as well as verified for it's integrity. Thanks for the help!

Oh boy, I used to have that. It might have been a factor in me ragequitting the game after having played it for a long time.
The best advice I can give you is to simply reinstall the game
Maybe this will help, hopefully.

Try this
STEP 1: Update your Anti-Virus Software to ensure that you do not have a virus
or trojan on your system.

STEP 2: Try running the SecuROM protected application in Windows 2000
Compatibility Mode:

To do this:
- right-click the dlcsetup.exe file of your application (the path to this file
is: C:/Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/borderlands/Binaries/DLCSetup/)
- click on 'Properties'
- click on the 'Compatibility tab'
- mark the box called 'Run this program in compatibility mode for'
- select 'Windows 2000'
- click on 'Apply'
- click on 'OK'

STEP 3: Please re-start the SecuROM protected application.

If you encounter any strange in-game behaviour when running your application
in Windows 2000 Compatibility Mode, we suggest:
1) Disable all software running in the background (incl. Services) and start
the application in normal Mode (without Windows 2000 Compatibility Mode).
Also, be sure to disconnected from the Internet if you disable Firewall and
Anti-Virus Software.
2) Try running the application in a new Windows Account (without Windows 2000
Compatibility Mode), or
3) Try running the application on a clean installed PC

Mine only goes up to Binaries.

Definitely would love to play with you/Toxik if he's up for it! (Although I sometimes may be occupied in a co-op with some school friends :$, and I just started; left off at the cutscene where I leave the bus.) What character/level are you?

I'm going as Lilith, while my other two friends are going as Rolan (level 19) and Mordicai (level 13-15?)
