OK so i am trying to open a port for UTorrent and am coming across a problem. I am with an ISP that requires me to use their WiFi modem/router a Hitron CGN-3 which is a POS. So i use it but i just use it as a "passthough" which is then connected to my Dlink DIR-880L. Now, when i go to the settings on the Dlink, and go to port forward it says my desktop that is plugged into the Dlink is ip 192.168.100.173. Also when i go to CMD and ipconfig it indeed says my IP4V is indeed 192.168.100.173.

Now when i go to a website and look up my external IP it says 174.117.90.246.

So how do i determine my correct IP and open a damn port! I have tried both.

I tried opening ports on both IP and with different port numbers and they both say the port is closed.

I wouldn't know? You want to portfoward to your desktop which you said is 192.168.100.173 so idk why you are also port forwarding to 192.168.100.146

If you dont know what it is I suggest you take it off.

Have you gone into your firewall to open the port yet?

okay the 192.168.100.246 doesn't matter. You can remove it.

Assuming 192.168.100.173 is still your computers IP, you are going to want to go into the firewall and open the port. What OS do you have?

You should be using your external IP in the "open port finder" input box.
It's asking for a remote address, 192.168.100.173 is a local address.
