32 Player Dustbowl US

Greetings all - I know a suggestion like this is a significant investment by those who run the community, but I felt it was worth mentioning that out of the NY LA and US servers, I get the best play experience on US.

My latency tends to hover around 90-100ms when I am on either NY or LA and this is actually as of late so I know its not a Skial issue and is present on a few other servers that may be close in terms of network hops.

I also know its not a connection issue on my end - My connection is pretty decent 50Mb/5Mb and to my delight, the US server performance is amazing. I hover around 23-35ms on that one. However, it is only a 24-player server.

So - if the powers to be would consider having a 32-player dustbowl US, I along with a whole host of others would be pretty darn grateful for it.

I'm not exactly sure where the US variations of the server are geographically speaking, but I know where Jade is coming from. I live in the mid-west US, so I'm not particularly close to either LA or NY based servers. I average around 90-120 latency for most LA servers, and around 50-60 for the NY servers. I always try to play on the US or TX Skial servers due to the better connection, but sometimes if I want to playing something like Dustbowl+ I have to use the NY servers. It isn't like I get a terrible connection to the NY+ server, but some days the latency can get a little out of hand.

I don't see why we couldn't have a Dustbowl+ US server. I remember that the Dustbowl+ Chicago server used to be fairly popular, and it always gave me a solid 25-40 latency.

I support this, and I'm sure many others in the middle US dwellers who love the overbearing unskilled sticky spam do too.

Well valve fucked community operators in the ass recently so I wouldnt expect much in the realm of server additions for a while. Bottiger is probably still trying to feel out the effects of the quickplay changes.

That's understandable. Although I do tend to take active measures to seed NY when im on and its pretty empty. I throw 4-5 idle accounts on and spam my friends list so if a new server does go up, I can sure help out with seeding.

Living in southern Ontario, I too have noticed that my latency tends to be significantly better when playing on the US servers as opposed to the NY and LA ones even though NY isn't horribly bad for me on some days. I'm with Jade on this one and would definitely support Skial creating a USA Dustbowl+ server.

The latency on the NY server jumps absolutely all over the place for me, living in the mid-west. My ping goes from 85 to 250 at random and there is nothing I can do to fix it. US and TX servers work great for me, and I would appreciate more of these servers in general.

+1, dustbowl US is often full and I would love to see it raised to 32 limit.
