It made it better but it tasted bad, it was like drinking Benedryll.

They must not have been that universally bad then, I don't eat Doritos, but if they were universally as bad as you reacted, drinking anything but milk would amplify the discomfort

Was my reaction bad or did I seem extremely unsatisfied? Gotta take notes for what the viewers like and don't like =) Also, something about milk and chips just doesn't fit right with me.

They shouldn't. But a glass of milk and a few chips isn't s large quantity. The bacteria in milk dampens the enflaming that spicy foods cause, along with bread

Carbonated beverages and especially water provide a catalyst for the enflaming and while it numbs it temporarily, it makes it worse afterwards. If you ever eat a hot pepper (I myself have don't mind spicy and have eaten ghost chilis and habeneros for entertainment) grab milk and bread, not soda or water
