GTX 645. I have a VGA to HDMI cord and it's plugged in. My screen properties thingy comes up with this http://i.imgur.com/xiRwYCn.png but when I try to put anything on screen 2, it just doesn't come up

Check your BIOS or UEFI menu at startup and see if there's multi-monitor support on your PC.

There shouldn't be any need to check the BIOS. Unless you're using an extremely low grade PC pretty much everything has multi-monitor support.
