You do have a point, but what if I learn the wrong thing?
When I first played tf2, all I used was backburner
got lots of kills, but i sucked at the game
Dota is nothing like tf2. If you're getting kills and getting stuff done you have to be doing something right. Just find something that works for you and stick to it. There really isn't a "right" and "wrong" in dota.
"Feeding" is where you allow an enemy hero to kill you, allowing them to gain XP and gold from your kill which gives their team an advantage. In order to prevent this, never let the enemy hero get the last hit on you and instead let an enemy creep get the last hit on you.
If I were you, after you learn the tutorial you should spend some time in offline mode playing with bots. You can make all the mistakes you want then. You could miss every ult you cast and accidentally feed the enemy team at every opportunity and no one would know. You learn more from failing than succeeding so give it a shot.
So basically, I'm gonna practice in dota more than I did in street fighter?
(but really, most of my street fighter matchs were with a guy that didn't move...)
