Which benefits in particular are you talking about?

You have the contributor tag on the forum so the system is aware that you have donated.

The server is full and I cannot connect

The 33rd slot is hidden and anyone can connect to the server through the console. It can take several minutes for the server to get the person's steamid and detect if the person is either.
  • Not a donator. The server then kicks this person.
  • A donator. The server kicks someone else.
The hidden slot is then available for you to connect to.

If you could not connect, someone was probably stuck in the 33rd slot. You also need to use the console to connect, you can't use the normal connect.
