I am seriously considering getting a new home that is outside a city, and i can only get "rural internet" that advertises up to 25mb/s download and since i am only a few miles from a city i don't think it will be difficult to get the advertised speed. However, i have 2 sons that game constantly on Xbox 360, the wife watches netflix and i game when i am home on my PC.

I been doing research that says gaming will be just fine as long as i get a good ping, and streaming under 4k (Which we never do 4k) will be just fine all together. I understand that download speeds will suffer for torrents so i would do that late at night to avoid using all the bandwidth.

I don't know much about networking so any help would be appreciated.

You should be fine. I had 3 people streaming movies/shows at the same time while I was playing Smite in my old condo at 10 mb. Never had any stutters or problems. I'd double check to make sure the company you're going with doesn't have a bandwidth limit though, that's the cancer I'd be concerned about.

You should purchase a wifi router/switch that supports QOS (Quality of Service). QOS allows you to prioritize the traffic on your network. While download speed is important, you also need to consider how fast is your upload bandwidth. Most providers have a higher download speed, then upload speed.
Since you are torrenting, you can make changes to your Torrent client, so that they don't consume a lot of connections, and also, limit the amount of your seed bandwidth (upload speed) to no more than 50% of line speed. So if your upload speed is 10 Mbit, I would recommend that you don't allow more then 5 Mbit from your Torrent client.

Depending on your client, you can specify your upload port, for example, I use 16384. I also have a QOS router, and I set port 16384 to "Low Priority". Your torrents can still run, without it impacting your other traffic such as Streaming / XBOX.

I bought the house and the boys are renting the basement apartment and they are going to have their own internet. Let them fight for bandwidth. I'll have my own upstairs. :)

Up to 25mb/s not enough to play with good fps
It’s better to immediately solve internet connection before moving

Yes, gaming is fine if the ping is OK, but you will also have to download them somehow:)
