I got myself a Dell G5 15 about 5 months ago and everything was running fine up until the past week where my laptop started getting really hot.
I decided to check out the temperature using CoreTemp. The temperature goes up to 98 Degrees Celcius while I'm playing Team Fortress 2.
Would really help if someone has a proper suggestion on how to cool it down.
Here are the specs of the laptop:
Intel i7-8750H
Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5 with Max-Q Design
16GB RAM

First thing to check is airflow..
Make sure air can get to the fans. Even a partially covered inlet or outlet can raise temp considerably.

Dust in the vents can cause heat to insulate and cause overheat. The thermal paste on the CPU/GPU may be dried out, needing a new coat of thermal paste

If you have the time, skills and tools, possibly look how to take it apart and blow out the dust in the fans and, if you can, reapply the thermal paste on your cpu and gpu

2 ways to cool down your Laptop & Desktop If Resolve.

1. Clean your device storage and delete temporary files.

2. Scan your anti-virus then remove virus so CPU gets cooling down.

2 ways to fix your TF2

1. Verify Files

2. Uninstall and delete Team Fortress 2 Folder and Reinstall it.

My CPU always cooler but sometimes i have same problem of my CPU keeps overheating while i was playing tf2. So, I decided to scan my virus and remove it and clean my device storage. but now I have 7% CPU running.

these are wrong, unless you're dumb enough to get a virus that specifically targets your hardware
secondly tf2 had nothing to do with this, it was just the vice for what was causing the temps
