If you've been told that you're allowed to say "nigger" in any situation - then you have been lied to.

As @Dave has posted above, that is our rules - you can say "nigga" is a non-negative context.

It wasn't said in any negative context, so i really don't see a problem.

It was decided that "nigga" is okay, but "nigger" is not. That is the decision.
And in your example, potato = potato, it is spelled the same way, even if it is pronounced differently. Furthermore, the word potato doesn't have a history of slavery and oppression.

How come you can't say nigga in a negative context? It surely doesn't mean blacks, since "nigger" isn't allowed. So why isn't it allowed to "Fuck you niggas" ?
