Help Me! Buying new PC soon, need help picking parts

I'm planning on upgrading from my gaming laptop to an actual gaming PC, but since I'll probably fuck up and bottleneck the shit out of it or order parts that aren't compatible, what do you guys think about this build?

No power supply since I already have a 730W on my old comp that should fit, and I think that's about it

I'm hoping to run VR on this PC, let me know if you think some parts won't be up to scratch

Everything looks compatible to here, and it's some pretty good parts. You can probably get some better value for your money here and there, parts are so good these days you really don't need crazy shit to run most things, even VR.

But, the build looks fine - if you want to be certain though: https://pcpartpicker.com/ put the parts in there, it will yell at you if you try to put something incompatible in there.

Also as Johnny says, newegg typically isn't the best place to get parts from. Do some searching, Amazon, Best Buy, NCIX even. You can normally find cheaper places, my last build was parts from like 6 different places. PC part picker will also find the best prices for you normally.

I did some cross referring with Amazon and one or two other websites, but newegg had some deals on most of the part at the moment, unfortunately almost all of those sales ended now :(

Yeah that's what my friend who's into VR said, plus it comes out later this month so it should be worth the wait!
And I took a look at that case earlier, thought $99 would be pretty spendy for a case, but do you think cable management is worth the price increase?

It's a great build, way better than my PC and mine can run a lot of good games in 1080p 60fps.

If you want to use VR then the graphics card should be alright, although the 1060 is quoted as the minimum required graphics card to run VR, not sure if that will affect it much though I haven't used VR myself.

I'm very interested in the Pimax 8k that's still on Kickstarter, I'm usually wary of KS projects but this one got a ton of very decent feedback
Hopefully this build will be good enough with the 1070 ti in case I get one when it comes out

My personal opinion is the case doesn't need to be neat. Get some cable ties and you'll be able to make your own cable management just fine. It comes down to what you like, if you're one of those neat obsessed people, get the more expensive case. If you don't care so long as everything fits and there's sufficient airflow, you're fine with the one you selected. Case doesn't need to be anything fancy, everything just needs to fit in it, and it just needs proper ventilation. Were I in your shoes, I'd stick with the original one you chose.

I think if you're willing to wait for Cyber Monday, you can find quite a bit of good deals on parts. If I recall correctly, Newegg and NCIX both ran some pretty nice sales last year around that time.

well i think NZXT makes quality products and if you really want to customize your pc this is the case for it. they have great compatibility with the rgb HUE and their rgb fans, its also water cooling friendly. however the case is all about preference. btw thats not my pc

I'm not super into cable organization, but I do like a neat-looking PC! Ventilation shouldn't be too much of a problem in the coming few months, but around summer it's definitely going to be an issue

Damn, I haven't tried water cooling yet, but I always loved the way it looks. Especially when you add RGB, that's the kind of PC I want to make eventually, but probably not right now since the price adds up very quickly. But that PC looks so badass!
