Every couple days this pops up in the bottom right corner of my screen. I need to then go to control panel/system/activate windows/troubleshoot and re activate it.

It is a legit copy.

Suggestions?

Are you sure its activated?

Go to Settings -> Update and Security -> Activation

What does it say there

Can you open up the command prompt and type in
slmgr /dli

This command doesn't change anything. It just displays your license information. What we are looking for is License Status and Time Remaining

Try
slmgr /xpr

It should show the time remaining since the above didn't.

I never ran into this before. I am not sure what the next step is, have you tried reactivating it?

Do you know your product key on hand? I would write it down somewhere. Some of the commands we may get to might erase your key to reactivate.

This command shouldn't erase your key, but i would copy it down anyway.
slmgr.vbs -ato

That will force an activation. If that doesn't work, I guess the next step would be to erase your key and try to reactivate it.

I mean, that is for pirated copies. If you are going to use something like that you are probably better off using Microsoft ToolKit
http://freemicrosofttoolkit.com/

But I guess either one is fine to use. I wouldn't download a torrent tho I would go straight to their site.

Microsoft didn't help me one bit when i had this problem. Kmspico did the job, but i guess you should try all the options and keep KMSPICO as a final resort.
