Now I do have to agree with you on that but have you even tested that out yet?
Are you proposing changing PL US into a Rotation US, or into adding a new server for all the rotation maps you suggested? If the former, I would not agree with ruining something that's going well to test if something "might" be what people like, whereas adding new PL maps to PL US does not alter PL US; it just enhances it.

I support this request. Please add more payload maps. We can vote from a larger list when we "rtv". I's like to see Metropolis too. TN has a great Payload Rotation selection. You could mimic their list.

Thanks for trying out hoodoo. We are glad to have our voices heard. Hope to see Pipeline and Nightfall tested as well. It may be worth considering the alternitive barnblitz as well.

Not a new sever but you guys are the admins of Skial so I guess that option is now out however putting in maps that are costom made might be a good idea.

Bot makes the decision, not us admins. We all have as much input as you do in situations like this. I just think changing something that's working to something unproven is a dumb idea and may anger regulars, which is not what we cater to lol

Well I meant Bot in a way but ok. I guess we will see what he thinks and all.

Don't take my bluntness as rudeness, but none of you guys know what you're talking about.

I've been in the same boat, asking for maps to be added in based off anecdotal evidence and support from a small handful of regulars thinking a map will fill if brought back. Bottiger disagreed, I disagreed with him, he gave the maps a chance and each time Bottiger ended up being right; the maps filled poorly and he had to remove them every time. I've seen the cycle repeat itself with others many times, not on just maps but other issues too and Bottiger ended up right almost every time.

It took me awhile to get it through my head that Bottiger knows his stuff inside and out and most of us players truly have not a damn clue about how these things work. The guy who has ran TF2's largest server community for 8 something years now and ongoing is going to have a lot more knowledge than us.

Because of this we need to have some faith in Bottiger. If he says a map will likely not work out, chances are high he's right. It's our inexperienced opinion, anecdotal evidence, and maybe a small handful of regular's support versus the experience and opinion of someone who has access to game wide statistics, 8 years of experience managing TF2's most successful server community, and he has managed to keep Skial up and well populated despite Valve doing their damned best to kill community servers.

If we (the players) had our way on everything Skial would be dead right now.

What is the harm in adding it for 30 days? Does it cost you money? Does it bring you physical pain? Everyone wants more maps.

Players often prefer to leave a map they dislike rather than stick around to play it.

Losing player traffic to unpopular maps makes it harder to keep the server consistently full

So 2 crashes in one day sounds odd well guys I guess we are out of luck and all maybe who knows what TF2 has got in stored for us next till then we will see what happens.

I really do wish Valve would fix this, but having a server crash is a really easy way to kill a server. And our 32 slot servers are more populated and active than others which is why you may not have noticed crashes anywhere else. But given the fact that none of the regulars here reported any of those 2 crashes, I am quite sure that this also happens on other servers even if you personally haven't noticed it.

I was there for one of the crashes, but I wasn't aware of the second one. I took the first crash as maybe related to hoodoo but couldn't say for sure since it only happened once. Unfortunate to hear it happened twice.

I haven't noticed hoodoo ever crash myself, but I can say Goldrush certainly does.

But even then hoodoo is already a "congested map" even with 24 players. I don't think that would be wise with 32 slots, crash or not.

Sad to hear about it crashing. Big thanks for at least letting us try. Would it be possible to try adding Pipeline and Nightfall to test? They could be a good option to add some variety to the server.

The only problem is that pipeline and nightfall are Payload Race maps, not Payload maps, afterall it is supposed to be just a Payload rotation server.

I just watched Payload+ US go from 30 players to 1 right when the map changed to pl_metropolis_b5, so I will be removing that.

We have a new experimental fix for 32 slot goldrush. It appears to be working for now, but the server reloads the map when it is out of edicts. Most people seem to stay when this happens compared to a crash though so we will leave it on for now.

Wait so Metropolis will be removed I find that odd of you saying people were leaving that map is good I don't get it.

Another thing I should add that Metropolis is a very popular map. The people that left to go to bed for work in the morning, get off cause they wanted to switch games. I don't think people hate the map.
