Donation confusion

Hi, I donated back in Jan and got 60 days for $10. I went to the donation page today and it looked like the same deal was available but after I got through the PayPal purchase it said I was subscribed for a recurring $10 every 30 days. Was this changed? Which product did I actually buy? I did get screenshots of both if you need to see that.

I only see a 60 days for $10 option. There is an option to subscribe rather than buy only once. In the mean time, you should post your screenshots too. @Bottiger will reply to you when he can.

There was nothing changed. If you click subscribe, it will subscribe to that amount every 30 days, as it says right on top of the buttons.

Choose one time payment or to subscribe for this amount every 30 days.

You can cancel the subscription through your Paypal login.

I'm guessing at this point that I hit the SUBSCRIBE button instead of the BUY NOW button at the bottom of the donate page. But that still leaves me subbing at $10/30 days, which is double the cost over the non-sub "Soldier" special I got last time. Is that the intent, or am I misunderstanding something?

It is most likely the intent since the payment is recurring monthly and you can decide how much you want to donate. You could donate 100$/month, you would obviously still receive the donator status for each month the payment does repeat.

If this bothers you, I can only advice you to approach bottiger and ask him if it is possible for you to quit the recurring payment after this month and still be able to get the 2 months (this+next month) you intended to pay for since you just hit the wrong button by accident.
The man is not a monster to my knowledge.

What you totally shouldn't do is charging back without trying to resolve it first.

Disputing/Reversing a payment will result in a permanent ban.

Oh, I wouldn't do that.

I canceled the sub. If the admin comes back and wants to add a month, great, if not I'll just eat the cost. I feel dumb enough posting this over five bucks :/

You already get a month for each $5.

The donation system is rather rudimentary and it has not seen many changes since we try to focus on improving player experience for everyone instead of trying to extract as much money from the playerbase as possible.

Everytime I think about trying to revamp it, there are a lot of other improvements I could do.
