    Problem solved. Updates Keep failing

Have you run the system update readiness tool? http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-update-error-800b0100#1TC=windows-7

What wireless adapter(s) do you use and why?

The main reason that people have trouble with wireless adapters on Linux is due to the user not downloading and installing the proper firmware files. Some wireless chipsets don't have firmware included in the Linux kernel and some distos strip out most of the wireless firmware because they...

    Windows 10!

Time for an update. I've been using Windows 10 for a week now. It seems to run nicely and is quite stable with very few noticeable bugs. The upgrade process form Windows 7 was very smooth. Start can easily be switched from a menu to a screen with the click of a button. The menu version of...

What wireless adapter(s) do you use and why?

Are you asking about 802.11(a/b/g/n/ac)? My router has a Linksys 802.11g card that I bought about seven or eight years ago and it still works really well. I'm using it with pfSense which is based on FreeBSD. I also have a couple of TrendNet 802.11g USB adapters that are decent, but won't...

    Problem solved. Mixing RAM

That's how it's suppose to work, but sometimes the system will just look at the faster stick and set the clock rate and timing for that which will either cause the system to not boot or cause random corruption of memory. In this situation, it is best to manually set clock rate and timings.

    post your desktop

I hate taskbar pinning. I always make a traditional quick launch bar. I click a button on the task bar and a new instance/window of a program is launched. I click the button again and it doesn't open a new instance/window. Hello? Consistency? Where are you?

    Windows 10!

DirectX versions are more of a marketing gimmick than anything these days. Still waiting for the upgrade to complete. It's taking forever, even with a SSD.

    Windows 10!

I'm going to upgrade my Windows 7 install to Windows 10 preview. I'm doing a full image backup of my SSD as I type this. I'll let you all know how it goes.

    Google Fiber

I'd be plenty happy with 20 mbps if the ISPs would stop hijacking consumer's data and taking unfair (and boarderline unethical) advantage of consumers every chance they get. I'm looking at you, Charter, with you nasty DNS servers that resolve everything to a search on your search portal, and...

    Windows 10!

Not even close. ext4 > ntfs Security holes in a linux distro can be patched by the user; either by writing code or building newer release form the upstream source. With Windows, you have to wait for Microsoft to release an update. However, Microsoft may decide not to patch the security hole...

What is a good Steel Series Mouse

Logitech makes the best mouses. I've been using the same MX518 since 2005 or 2006. It still works like new.

    Windows 10!

I've heard that Microsoft is jumping to 10 because it make Windows look like it's on the same level as Mac OS X. All I have to say is that my X server is still at a higher level at version 11.
