Wholesome TF2: Meeting the Light of My Life on 2fort
*Disclaimer: This post isn’t for notoriety so much as it’s just a positive experience I’ve had due to this game. I hope that in the midst of negativity, that this brightens up someone’s day.*

Random chance has always been such a complex, and annoying thing. Crits destroying your entire team, random spread letting your opponent live, and the aggravating random chance to get an Australium in an MvM tour.
​
In my case, random chance had changed my entire life.
​
It all started back in 2014. I was still dedicated to playing pyro and had been sticking to a Skial 2fort server. My friends were on daily and I was just messing around as usual.
​
Lo and behold, I had run into someone who was pretty much my pyro’s twin.
​

Needless to say I had to add him right away. Although the personality difference was right there in the beginning. I bombastically said hello and that I had added him due to us having nearly the same pyro loadout. He said simply a few words.

Even though we were quite different at first, we eventually got to know each other. He understood that my favorite color was green, that my favorite dessert was cheesecake, and was a chatterbox at heart. We started off with a lighthearted friendship.

Then it was my turn to get to know him. You maybe asking, who is he? Well this is Mr. Light. Eventually I grew to know that his favorite color is light blue, his favorite Pokemon type is Steel, and that he has a talent with SFM (as one can see with this poster and the next).
​
We began to chat on Steam every day, and those days eventually turned to years. Soon, it had become 5 years of knowing each other. During those years this wonderful individual had seen me at my lowest where I didn’t want to exist anymore, and I had been there for him when he was rendered considerably ill during the winter holidays. He was there for me when my mental health took a hit for the worse, and didn’t treat me any differently than he had before.
​
It was at that moment that there was this person who was right in front of me and it clicked that he was the one. It was anxiety-inducing due to me not wanting to ruin such a long-term friendship. I’d accept the terms either way, but it would still break my heart. The moment came and I awkwardly explained that I had feelings for him. Seconds ticked by as I awaited the reply, but much to my surprise, he had feelings for me too.
​
However, there was still a blatantly obvious issue of us not having seen each other in person. At first it seemed like there was no way of this happening, but as luck would have it, his family was going to my state to visit a relative. When we met for the first time, it had felt like we had always known each other. For the first time, it really felt like I was happy.
​
Cue to the third day of being together and we had finally agreed that we’d be a couple. Skip to current day, and he’s planning to have a home here with me. While it took random chance and 5 years, it was definitely worth the wait.
