I've been getting hooked into D&D gradually. I'm planning on buying the books that explain basics of D&D. Basically a roster of monsters, items and maybe few pre-written stories. I'd like to hear both from players and DMs/GMs about both positive and negative experiences you may have had with people you've played with. I'd also like to hear about how long it took you to learn the basic rules of the game when you were the newbies? Doesnt need to be restricted to D&D experiences.

I don't know about RPG but I play Magic the Gathering, because I don't know what money or time is.

Pretty solid mana ramp deck, good for you! Might I suggest Elvish archdruid and Priest of titania? Ramp it to the max!
While ramp is good, its not the primary focus of the deck.
Look at the only sorcery in the deck understand what it does and see that it plays the deck, thus the name "omnath, primal play your deck"

Yeah, I understood. This deck looks like a lot fun! I personally like to run what they call a "group hug" deck. Basically give bunch of stuff to other players and let the creatures' ETB effects ruin their day. Egg artifact with leveler inside it, boom rip library.

I used to play Magic, had an Elves birds of paradise/llanowar elves deck, then had one of those Green-White-Black decks with birds, kitchen finks, path of exile, profane command, troll ascetics...etc. Then I think I lost the deck sometime ago, or someone stole it, either way, can't find it anymore.

That sucks, with luck one day you'll find it in some random closet!

I used to collect MTG, never played it much. I ran an ebay store buying collections in bulk, selling in playable sets of four. used to make a shit ton of money when i look back, but it was time consuming. My goal was to collect 1 of each card, think I got to about 4-5,000 cards all different, this was when champions of kamigawa was out. had complete sets of a few, like darksteel, 4th edition, fallen empires, stronghold and a few more, had a good few beta, a couple alpha, none of the big hitters like time twist, lotus, or mox's.. sold out a few years back, got a terrible price for what I had on an ebay auction, was fucking gutted. Got a full set of base set 1 (first ed) pokemon still though..
