So I know @StantoMacGuffin got the game, and after following it for a long time I'm really looking forward to it!

Anyone else got the game, or are planning on getting it?

I can appreciate it, there isn't anything else like it. But it seems you would get bored very quickly

It depends on what kind of games you like, I really like exploring and open world games so it's a hit for me, but I understand how some people might not like it
ye but from what i see its just go to a planet, get stuff, go to another planet, get stuff etc so ye

i preordered despite knowing not to do so, i enjoy exploration and i think there is more to it than they showed, which is a shame, they really should have showed more than just walking around on different planets, because they only showed that, people are thinking that might be all there is to the game, though i guess it is quite the pre order deterrent, didnt stop my dumb ass though

i think it looks nice but theres so much room for them to mess up and make a boring game. like, god forbid getting a bad spawn at start and being 100s of years away from other players irl time

Well the developers warned that players shouldn't even go into the game expecting any kind of multiplayer interaction, as the open world is so big there are very low chances of meeting other people

yeah i've been noticing a lot of that, its strange how insanely barren all of the planets are and the fact that a lot of the videos show the same looking planets
im hoping its just because of hardware limitations but untill then i did apply for a refund on the game, thankfully i can correct my grave mystake of a preorder

I was really hoping there would be more to it than just the same cycle/system on each planet, I'm guessing the public will get sick of it pretty quick and the developers will finally release some new upgrades and systems to keep players entertained

I thought Sean Murray said that if you actually managed to meet someone you would be able to see eachother? This isn't the case as seen by the streamers who were on the same planet and couldn't see eachother, and the big one: the game doesn't actually transmit any data besides uploading discoveries and such, and he (Sean Murray) keeps avoiding the question by saying stuff like "two players meeting on the first day, amazing!" and "its a miracle our networks are still up" or something instead of addressing the question.

Nonetheless, I still believe for a glorified indie game, you shouldn't be paying $60 for what, from what I've seen, still looks like an early access game.

Its a damn shame because I really wanted this game to do well.

its somewhat strange how different it is from everything shown, and everything shown that was years ago, with the huge variety of enviroments shown here
yet it seems very little was added, and from all videos shown it actually looks worse, though that may be because we've only seen console and Pc versions should be able to go much further
though i dont get why'd they'd release it earlier on consoles anyways

Sony got their grubby paws all over this game is what happened. Hyped it up way too much and all the ads look misleading because of how shit console hardware is. That and cherry picked worlds to showcase cool landscapes completely ignores the shitton of barren worlds with nothing interesting.

The general consensus from what I've read about this is it would have been an amazing $20 game, but just isn't worth the full price for what you get.

I've heard speculation that it was originally meant to be a much smaller scale production hypewise but Sony took it and blew it up way past what it was.

No Man's Sky would be a fucking great $20 game. How big is this studio that they needed to charge $60 for it. They aren't. Isn't it like 15 people?

I guess the reason it's called No Man's Sky is because the game caught fire and exploded immediately upon launch.
