I applied for admin quite a while ago: https://www.skial.com/threads/admin-app-skepticalbear.57532/

The application previously seemed pretty warmly received, I just needed more time. The reason I'm applying again is because I believe that having an admin on the Dustbowl+ EU server during the peak times (which is when I always play) will become useful due to all the problems that can occur on there. For example, right now there is a user called Norman Bates (see here, here and here) who keeps creating new accounts, all under the same name, to bypass a permanent ban for wall hacking and using an aim bot. It can be really frustrating when people are hacking during a game because the threshold for temp bans are so high so there is nothing people can do usually. The Dustbowl+ EU server is a great community with many regulars who I have added to my friends list since I began playing on here over a year ago.

Even if it's just a week test to see how I do, I think it would work out well for Skial to have someone who permanently plays on the Dustbowl+ EU server during peak times as admin.

I've also donated regularly to the server, as does another person in my house. Just to prove a little bit more my allegiance to Skial! :D

Good spot, except myself Iron Mike and Manni always have a bit of banter. That was a joke about the fact they always medic each other, they are actually on my friends list. Madbor doesn't speak much English, but we still manage to have a joke with him. Although I will admit the first one was due to a moron teleporter griefing, that is something that gets rather annoying really fast.

One of the things I'll admit to is not being politically correct, and I see no need to be that way since we're all playing a video game for a bit of fun. If we have to be super professional and no longer are allowed to joke around on the servers once you're admin then it's something I would not be interested in. As you can see, I only play on the Dustbowl+ EU server. This is because many of the players there are regulars and I enjoy the banter we all have together.

Norman, you've been banned 4 times at least from the servers and you keep coming back. Of course people are going to get pissed off when you're tracing them through walls.

I'm not here because I want to be an admin because it's cool, I made this thread because I thought having a regular admin on the Dustbowl+ EU server would stop ban evaders who ruin games such as Norman...

Thank you for offering that. But swearing in itself is not forbidden. You had not have to close your application because of that, it sheds a bad light on you because you gave up so easily for something you wanted. Do not believe you are not welcome here, because people write that they have worries about your temper.
There is always a line to draw between having a friendly struggle with somebody or losing ones temper of course.
But it is usually hard for us to know wether you are just being friendly with these people calling them names because you know them and they understand its a joke or wether you do it because they frustrate you for some reason and you're losing it.
We only have letters and text to make a first impression, and they do not deliver emotions when reading them. I hope you do understand that. It is always alot better to apply with a clean chat.
However, I don't think, personally speaking of course, that a chat alone (except for pretty obvious cases i.e. racism) should be a reason to deny anybody. The time you have to wait until approval or denial is usually long enough to dig your dirtiest laundry up :innocent:. May it be the reviewing process or the candidate's behaviour while in the application process.

Like I said, I'm not here applying because I think it'll be cool or similar to be an admin. I genuinely want to help the community. :blush: I'm not one who would be super professional in terms of what I say, I enjoy logging onto the servers and having a bit of banter with the regulars.. 50% of the fun of TF2 for me is seeing the same names when you login. I'm sure there are lots of instances people could find me swearing or "insulting" someone, but should you actually ask them I would imagine the majority of them would agree that it's banter. There have of course been a few times where I've got angry at players, usually those that grief or are purposely not helping the team (also considered griefing).

I'll remove the closed tag for now, let's just see what people think.

The ones who decide this must understand that the banter due to the limited english at times makes Dustbowl eu +32 a unique server. If even someone lists a chat logg it doesnt tell the whole story and might be more of a product of the lack of admins on the server. I believe Skeptical will be a good choice for an admin despite his temper towards Manni Mike :p In truth we all get a little angry at those guys at times.

Bit of an odd thing to say. Just because it hasn't been posted on in a few days makes me not serious?

I'll admit I've been a bit busy over the past week because it was my sister's 16th birthday so I was away for that, and have been catching up with a little work due to the Christmas break. I'm going to ask some of the Dustbowl+ EU regulars to post here tonight and tomorrow. But to say that someone isn't serious because people haven't posted on their thread? That doesn't make much sense to me.
