Can someone give me the basics of monster hunter

I've been thinking about getting my friends into the games, we need something to play other than smash
the basics are hard to explain, however the tutorial for monster hunter 4 ultimate explains a whole lot and has a mode for beginners.

if you want to know how to use weapons youtube.com/channel/UCT84SVapAfSSD_iMfpKbFbA/videos is a good channel for that, he hasn't covered them all yet, but he has covered the more complex weapons.

otherwise, http://monsterhunter.wikia.com/wiki/Monster_Hunter_Wiki It has literally everything you need to know.

once you figure out how to play and what does what, the game is a good bit self explanatory

like seriously there is so much stuff that i'd have to explain you'd lose place. it's easier this way.

Thanks, I'll look into it.

How good is this game for muliplayer?

It's pretty fun alone but when on multiplayer you can play for hours on end without getting tired, multiplayer is definitely where Monster Hunter shines.

Last question regarding monster hunter

What exactly are the improvements to 4 from 3? The biggest difference for me is that 3 has a wii u version, that can play with the 3DS versions.

Monster Hunter 4 takes out the shitty under water battles, adds tons more Monsters, you have improved maneuverability, also you can jump on the Monster's back and stab them repeatedly. :>

Oh yes and in Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate the fps can drop a bit in multiplayer sometimes but not in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate on the New 3ds. Other than that stuff I cannot really think of other differences. @Dr.Shoe can provide those if I didn't list them all.

3ds version has online mode now, mh3u didn't on 3ds.

the new weapon classes, and the old ones have been tweaked to make them easier to use.
The environment now plays a much bigger role in combat
no shitty monsters
no shitty underwater combat
and mounting.

there is probably more, but cannot think of of anymore

Apparently the demo has become too easy for Shoe, so he plays by himself in multiplayer for the harder version of the Monsters meant for 4 players and it's still too easy for him...

whats your nintendo ID
i need to shut down all your hopes of ever being good at this game
You watch, he is going to be gone a month again, he will make another appeal then finally respond to you and you'll have to wait another month before fighting him.

Ugh I don't want to but I think I might get a new GC controller and an adapter for Sm4sh because it's hard to aim Megaman's Metal Blade without the nudges on the joystick. Reason I don't want to is because the Wii U Pro Controller is much more comfy to hold imo.

10$ says hes one of those "PK FIRE PK FIRE PK FIRE PK FIRE PK FIRE PK FIRE PK FIRE" kind of ness mains
or a ness that spams up b

This. The Pro could be tolerable for me if it had notches.
