My roommate just got the most recent new virus out there. CryptoLocker.
It is actually called ransomware. And what it does is it encrypts these file extensions
And stores the decryption key on their own personal server. They will not give you the key until you pay $300.
Removing the virus is easy, but I have not been able to decrypt the files. In fact, no one has been able to decrypt the files yet.
This virus is sent through emails. So, please do not open up any emails you do not recognize and don't download any attachments.
If anyone has had any luck getting their files decrypted i would like to know.
