Kick high pingers (Oboy another one of these indeed)

Why there isn't an auto-kicker for people with high ping for Skial servers just seem weird to me. I look in other threads suggesting it, and folks reply with "just votekick him" or "it doesn't lag the server". It's annoying to play against a combat-engy with 270 ping and then miss him constantly because he's lagging all over the place only to get killed by his stupid mini-sentry.

So still no plans to introduce an auto-kicker?

every time I've fought against someone with that high of a ping, they do a little shuffle, not really a drastic teleport.

It's insanely easy to kill them

because we got people like faron with a partial working toaster
besides i used to be in places with ping caps, it took a while for my ping to go down and i'd be kicked before it got steady(which is another reason why i don't leave skial servers)

There's a system which kicks you after a number of warnings (like 10) and then resets after a short while. If you're not having constant high ping then there shouldn't be any problem.
 
There's actually quite a few people who are here BECAUSE we don't kick high-pingers

Suppose you get a warning about your ping. How do you then go about lowering your ping?

they had warnings too, and it still kicked me even when i was a little bit over.
we have people come here because we don't kick people with high ping as lord said

I realize that there's people who play on the Skial servers because of that. The question is, how many have tried to fix their ping? It's really annoying to play against them, rather than enjoyable.

I can't say how to lower your ping, there are several possibilities why.

Because your ping never went down, I guess? I have ping spikes as well sometimes, but that doesn't kick me since my ping goes down after a short while.

oh well, apart from the obvious ceasing your downloads, exiting torrents and other obvious ways to lower your ping; you could also not insist on going to a server on the other side of the planet.

it's kind of a slippery slope, people with 300 ping can notoriously teleport around, but they can also play 'acceptably' without said burden. i've seen people below 200 ping lag around to, but those same people wouldn't be affected by any kind of high-ping kicker, despite them lagging. it really begs for visual opinion, as a number really doesn't mean anything (unless it's really high).

The only way a 200 pinger like myself can even play TF2 properly is because of Skial servers.
More than 300 is bad, though.

I'd say impliment this on the extreme end, though. I've seen at least 1 person who in 10 minutes didnt' drop below 800 ping...

Why didn't you just kick him? I say that there shouldn't be any ping-kicker installed. If people are experiencing problems with a guy on the server who has a very high ping, they can just votekick him.

I live in Asia. The reason for my ping. I cannot improve my ping even if I get the best net connection possible here.

They removed votekick, and a voteban is cancelled out by anything over one no vote; remember?
