Video TF2 wont open

when ever i try 2 open tf2, i get this:

I actully have no idea why its happening :/

when i use -novid, i just get the "preparing to launch tf2" for about 1hr, then it goes away, and does nothing

Try closing all apps first, check whats running in sys man, may be a conflict..

i havent gotten a update/patch for tf2 in about 3 weeks.

Verify the integrity of the game cache. It's in the properties.

DUMBASS. Un-insalling Steam, you have to re-insalll all your games. Don't tell me you lost your steamapps folder.

Good. No uninstall Steam. Delete local content and do a full TF2 re-install.

i think i have to delete portal as well right? because they both use the hl2 engine or something like that?

K. Delete local content for TF2 yet? When you do, just re-install. You will more than likely have to re-download every custom file you've had to this point though. It's weird why steamapps is still there, but custom TF2 files aren't.
